Norways first 3D photocrystal
Laser
Engraved Crystal centre opened in Oslo to crowds of excited shoppers with
the help of 3D specialists Inition.
Inition supplied and installed the latest InSpeck 3D
Capturor II scanner and EM Subsurface
Laser
Engraved Crystal software for Norwegian company Crystalized.
The shop in Oslo City the capital's largest
shopping centre produces
Laser
Engraved Crystal 3D images in crystal cubes. In the past it was only
possible to engrave generic images but now curious shoppers can sit for a quick
3D photo and have their faces immortalized in a block of
Laser
Engraved Crystal.
The whole process from scan to
Laser
Engraved Crystal cube takes under 20 minutes. Firstly an image is scanned
by the InSpeck 3D Capturor II. It is like taking a normal digital picture
because the 3D camera uses white halogen light rather than a laser more
commondly found in 3D scanning systems. Next, a the software converts the
captured 3D image into a point cloud and displays the resulting 3D image
on-screen for preview purposes before the etching process of the
Laser
Engraved Crystal begins.
Finally, a crystal block is placed in the
laser-engraving system and a laser beam penetrates the crystal and creates tiny
points in the glass. Thousands of dots later, the customer receives a stunning
3D Laser
Engraved Crystal. |
